Free plan limits: how much you get each day
Pangolin's free plan gives you 10 minutes and 500 MB a day, shared across all your devices and reset daily at 00:00 UTC. Here's how it's counted, where to check it and what happens when you run out.
Pangolin has a free plan — no payment, no ads, ready as soon as you sign up. New accounts start with a free 7-day Pro trial that isn’t subject to the limits below; when the trial ends you move to the free plan automatically.

Good to know:
- It’s per account and shared by all your devices. Use 6 minutes on your phone in the morning, and your other devices have 4 minutes left for the day;
- It resets every day at 00:00 UTC (08:00 Beijing time), back to a full 10 minutes and 500 MB;
- Time counts only while you’re connected — nothing is used up once you disconnect;
- Routing rules, every server, encryption and our no-logs policy are the same on the free plan as on Pro.
Where to check it
In the app: the account card at the top of the Account screen shows your plan, marked Free on the free plan. The desktop app also shows “Free · 10 min/day” in the bottom-left corner.
In the web User Center: the Overview shows Time left today, data used today and your devices — the quickest way to see exactly how many minutes you have left. See The web User Center.
When you run out
- Out of time: if you’re connected when your minutes run out, you’re disconnected automatically, and the Connect screen shows “You’ve used today’s free time. Upgrade to keep connecting.”;
- Out of data: once you pass 500 MB for the day, new connections are refused;
- Tapping Connect again that day tells you the allowance is used up. It tops up automatically the next day at 00:00 UTC.

The free plan works on one device
A free account can only be used on one device. If you sign in on a second device, you’ll see the Device limit reached screen and need to remove one first — see Device limit and removing devices.
FAQ
Do I have to watch ads on the free plan?
No. You can connect straight away — 10 minutes and 500 MB a day, topped up again the next day.
Is the allowance per device?
No, it's per account and shared by all your devices. If you use 6 minutes on your phone, your other devices have 4 minutes left that day.
When does it reset?
Every day at 00:00 UTC (08:00 Beijing time).
